ART TO DELIGHT THE MOST DISCERNING COLLECTOR

Our approach to re-creating an antique is straightforward: we adhere to original design drawings; we search for the same materials, many purchased from the same sources as the original makers; and lastly, we create with the soul of the original master in mind. We are inspired by the work of our forefathers, and we strive to create pieces that are even finer than the original period versions. We have produced more than 1,500 re-creations with extreme attention to the finest details, employing the same machines, the same woods and the same finishes as those used in the 1920s, 30s and 40s.

In particular, we have experience with Ruhlmann, Dupré-Lafon, Royer, Brandt, JM Frank, Eileen Gray, Perriand, Chareau, Maxime Old, Arbus, Cheuret, Groult, Porteneuve, Sue et Mare and Sornay, among others.

“Frank is such an amazing craftsman and so incredibly knowledgeable about Ruhlmann’s history that his furniture is almost impossible to distinguish from the real thing, and I believe, even better”

ANTIQUE RESTORATION

We have repaired and restored the finest and most valuable antiques, using traditional techniques and methods. Having the largest collection of veneer in the world allows us to match virtually any missing wood.

A RESTORATION OF A LIFETIME

On an original Gaveau piano from 1922. The piano arrived at our shop missing more than 115 pieces of its Macassar ebony veneer. Utilizing the materials in our collection, many sourced from the very same seller in France where Gaveau acquired the original wood, we were able to flawlessly match the existing veneer. This allowed us to make completely invisible patches to the damaged areas. The finished piano speaks for itself as a flawless restoration, all the way down to the hand-applied French-polish finish.
