“Frank, I just wanted to let you know that we received the pieces and they are unbelievable. Everyone who saw them was overwhelmed. They are both perfect and it makes it all the more special that they were handcrafted by people who care so much about their craft. They will both be family heirlooms forever. Please thank all your craftsman and artists for their kind and loving creations. Thanks again.”
Frank Pollaro founded Pollaro Custom Furniture, based in Northern New Jersey, in 1988. Our primary business is to supply architects, interior designers and residential clients with all forms and styles of hand-made furniture, cabinetry or architectural woodwork.
Since its inception, Pollaro has supplied museum quality custom furniture for residential and select corporate environments garnering the respect of leading architects and designers worldwide. Completing over 2000 projects for clients on five continents, Pollaro has mastered all forms of furniture making from dining tables to richly paneled libraries.
Consisting of a team of roughly 35 people, Pollaro has built an unequaled reputation for excellence. The company is known for its complex veneered and inlaid furniture, which spans a spectrum of periods and styles.
Frank Pollaro actively takes part in furniture making while also directing the work of five senior cabinetmakers. Most of our employees have been with the company for over ten years. Each project is managed on a daily basis by meetings between all members of the shop every morning. Only one project is taken by each senior cabinetmaker at a time, ensuring that each piece of furniture is guided carefully from the drawing phase through finishing stages and to the client’s home. We routinely receive compliments from our clients with respect to our professionalism and craftsmanship.
Our clients actively participate in the ongoing decisions affecting their projects and are encouraged to visit the shop during the construction phases. Most find this experience interesting and rewarding.
Pollaro’s furniture and interiors have been featured in Architectural Digest, Art & Antiques, Departures Magazine, Audio Video Interiors, Elle Decor, House & Garden, Animal Fair, Garden State Home and Garden, Custom Woodworking Business, The New York Times, and The Star Ledger. Frank Pollaro was featured on HGTV’s Modern Masters during a segment devoted to the making of a Steinway piano. His written articles on the craft have been published in Fine Woodworking, Woodshop News, Woodshop Business, and American Woodworker magazines. For a complete list see Published Work
